Start at the Vietnam Memorial, just outside of Taos and learn how this memorial inspired the establishment of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. Stop at Eagle Nest State park to refresh, enjoy the stunning scenery and maybe even try your hand at trout fishing. Journey on to Elizabethtown and learn about the once bustling mining camp that became New Mexico’s first incorporated town. Then you will wind through the mountainous roads and go over the highest mountain pass in New Mexico as you travel from Elizabethtown to Red River, (The Mountain Playground). This adventure travels through ponderosa pines, spruce trees, grasslands of the valley, and the rolling high desert mountains, giving you a taste of the variety that the Land of Enchantment has to offer. Try new foods and drinks, and maybe get lucky enough to see some wildlife!
