My mom and... read more I had the privilege of joining the May New Moon Chaco Canyon Expedition. Our guide Bobby and the entire HI team took us on a journey back in time creating an incredible connection with this sacred land and those that inhabited it.
The deep knowledge and experience of the team created an unforgettable journey. Angelisa and the HI team's organization and attention to detail was impressive. Our every need was thought of and then some, from great stories to entertain and educate along our journey, to snacks for the drive, a divine cool lavender towel when we arrived at camp, and traditional herbal tea and local chocolates. The food was incredible, I will be dreaming and trying to recreate the delicious grilled peaches with chantilly cream and blueberry gastrique for quite some time! To close out our day we enjoyed stargazing and a surprise Tau Herculid meteor shower. The accommodations were incredibly comfortable and cozy, making for a great night's sleep after a busy day hiking. The next morning warm coffee and tea awaited our Fajada Butte sunrise hike. The desolate beauty and tangible remains of a culture that once thrived were even more impressive under the morning's golden light. Overall, this was an unforgettable journey. I am already looking forward to my return and next adventure with the HI team!
