INSPIRED SANTA FE YOGA INSTRUCTORS
ZAINA BUDAYR, ANNIE MULLINS, & AMY JANE BANFIELD
ZAINA BUDAYR is a New York City-based vinyasa yoga and meditation teacher with a passion for helping people learn nurturing practices that can become tools to manage stressors of everyday life. She completed her 200-hour teacher training and mentorship with Sky Ting Yoga, a studio that follows Katonah-based methodologies. This type of yoga prioritizes measurement, by extensively using props and adjustments to find space in the mind and body. It draws upon Hatha principles, Taoist philosophy, and breathwork. Zaina is driven to help connect her students to tangible tools to use throughout often busy days, be that through group classes, fun tutorials, or wisps of inspiration that she finds in the world around her. There is always space to change and grow, and even the tiniest shifts can lead to an aha! moment.
For ANNIE MULLINS, yoga continues to carve a path towards inner exploration and, ultimately, a deep awakening for healing, growth, and connection. A lifelong student of the somatic arts, Annie received a BFA in dance and choreography from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. She is a 500hr RYT and a 200hr instructor of Prana Vinyasa, a holistic and transformative journey into deeper embodiment created by global teacher and activist, Shiva Rea. She is also a certified instructor of JourneyDance, Yin Yoga, Prenatal and Postpartum Yoga.
Annie’s classes are designed to create space to tend to one’s Self in the most loving way. Focusing on anatomical and energetic alignment within the breath flow, Annie hopes to encourage practitioners to tap into their own visceral richness and integrative strength. Annie is delighted to share the practice of Vinyasa Yoga with the intent of providing a balancing, empowering, and creative experience, enabling students to leave class connected into their core radiance.
AMY JANE BANFIELD never knew that yoga would become her calling and career path. After more than a decade as a competitive synchronized swimmer and then runner, she had her initial experience practicing yoga while visiting Santa Fe in 2011. She went on to complete her 200-hour Vinyasa certification through YogahOMe in her hometown of Cincinnati, OH; and then her 300-hour of additional yoga training with Yoga Assets based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She currently is registered at a RYT 500 HR/E-RYT 200 Teacher and co-founder of The Southwest Yoga Shala (www.thesouthwestyogashala.com).
Amy Jane’s passion for teaching yoga is rooted in witnessing her students become empowered by their bodies while their stress and worries melt away. Her yoga classes are smooth, dynamic, and encourage her students to be playful in their approach to the practice. In addition to teaching weekly classes she also leads teacher training programs & local workshops. When she is not teaching yoga; you can find Amy Jane enjoying the great outdoors (hiking is one of her favorites), exploring the Farmers’ Market, drinking tea, art journaling, spending time with those who uplift her, reading at a local coffee shop or just out and about exploring Santa Fe, always with a smile on her face!
Hatha yoga is an opportunity to cultivate awareness through breath, movement and stillness. This form of practice is based from the root of all physical asana (postures), Hatha yoga. This form of practice is a great re-introduction to refine your time on the mat and also introduction for those beginning to establish a yoga practice. We will mindfully transition from posture to posture in conjunction with the breath. Class will focus on general alignment, breathing with more ease and exploring variations of postures that best suit your body. All are welcome!
