Travel back to 17th century Spain. Founded in the name of the Viceroy of New Spain in 1706, Albuquerque embodies the culture, traditions and the spirit of New Mexico. At Heritage we strive to provide an authentic experience and true sense of place. We have an appreciation for the cultural history of New Mexico. Albuquerque has been the center of the Hispanic Heartland for over 3 centuries. Since its establishment our city was surrounded by Native American spiritualism and influenced by European immigrants. This mixture of cultures has deep roots and enchants locals and visitors alike. Join us on our wellness morning ritual as we leisurely walk to Numbe Whageh a nearby spiritual center created by landscape artist Nora Naranjo Morse. We leave our daily hustle behind as we take in the nature of indigenous grounds and vegetation to heal and center our spirits. Together, we will awake, revive, and prosper from this short but significant journey.

WELLNESS WALK | Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:30AM – 8:00AM

INSPIRED ABQ YOGA INSTRUCTOR

CHARLOTTE MONTOYA

CHARLOTTE MONTOYAI started practicing yoga when my boys were younger and I desperately needed to carve out time to work on myself. In yoga, I found a sacred space not only to move my body and sweat, but to relieve my anxiety, process emotions, and heal. I constantly convince family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers to try yoga and meditation to discover the benefits of the practice in their own lives. In 2012, I completed the Street Yoga Trauma-Informed Teacher Training and YogaFit Kids Teacher Training. After obtaining a master’s degree in Special Education, I began incorporating yoga in my work with young children in the school setting and teaching kids yoga classes at a studio, while their parents practiced in the hot room next door. In the spring of 2016, I completed the Sacred Heart & SOAL Mystic Yoga School’s 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, where I earned additional certifications in the areas of chair yoga, yin meditation, Hot Shakti, Reiki and most importantly I reconnected with my spirituality. My goal was to deepen my own practice but after guiding my first class, I felt a strong call to teach yoga. I have been teaching intimate studio classes, large popup special events, as well as corporate and private clients for the past 5 years. I am currently working on my 500-hour RYT certification. I am in love with the practice of yoga and fascinated by the body’s innate ability to heal. I know I was put on this earth at this time to help people and I am grateful that teaching has provided the means for me to hold space for others in their own healing journeys.
