Pedal Through the Heart of Northern New Mexico

Immerse yourself in the true essence of Northern New Mexico with a thoughtfully curated itinerary that connects Santa Fe and Taos through the eyes of a local. Our E-Bike tours are designed to offer a genuine, off-the-beaten-path travel experience, where you’ll pedal along back roads and hidden routes that bring you closer to the heart of each destination.

4-Night | 5-Day E-Bike Itinerary

Day 1-2 (Santa Fe):

Begin your journey in Santa Fe, acclimating to the 7,000-foot elevation and exploring the architectural wonders, from adobe to territorial-style buildings. Stay at the luxurious Inn of the Five Graces, where every detail is thoughtfully curated for an unforgettable experience.

On Day 2, experience the city’s historic neighborhoods and cultural sights on an e-bike tour, with the assistance of your electric bike to navigate the scenic elevations. Spend the rest of the day at your own pace—visit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, head to Museum Hill, explore Meow Wolf, or enjoy a show at the Lensic Performing Arts Center.

Day 3 (Santa Fe to Taos):

Take the High Road to Taos, visiting the Taos Pueblo UNESCO World Heritage Center, the Taos Art Museum, the Couse-Sharp Foundation, or the Millicent Rogers Museum—each a perfect window into the area’s rich history. Stay at Hotel Willa, where modern comfort meets the charm of Taos, providing an intimate and relaxing retreat.

Day 4 (Taos):

Join us for a morning Taos E-Bike Tour, followed by the afternoon to explore any sites you missed. Don’t forget to book dinner at The Love Apple, our personal favorite.

Day 5 (Farewell):

After your Taos adventure, head back to Albuquerque or Santa Fe for your farewell flights, leaving with memories to last a lifetime.

Start your adventure in Santa Fe, known as "The City Different," where rich history and vibrant culture await. Our City Different E-Bike Tour guides you through the city’s iconic adobe architecture, away from the typical tourist spots. You’ll ride along tucked-away pathways, discovering local art, landmarks, and the lesser-known treasures that bring to light Santa Fe’s historical significance as our oldest capital in the United States. With an expert guide sharing insider stories, you’ll experience the city like a local, at your own pace and powered by the ease of an electric-powered bike.

From Santa Fe, take the scenic route north to Taos, where the landscape shifts dynamically and dramatically, offering breathtaking mountain vistas with a deep sense of history. On our Taos E-Bike Tour, you’ll explore hidden trails and quiet roads in town that lead you to the iconic Taos Pueblo, local art hubs, and riverside paths, all while avoiding the crowds. The tour offers a deeper connection to this special place in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, allowing you to discover Taos through the eyes of those who know it best—the diverse community that lives there!

This itinerary isn’t just about seeing Northern New Mexico—it’s about experiencing it as a local would, moving at your own pace and connecting with the land and culture in a more personal way. By booking both our City Different and Taos Experience E-Bike Tours, you’ll experience the authentic side of two distinctive destinations along thoughtfully curated, local-driven routes.

Create your own Northern New Mexico adventure with our E-Bike tours—where every pedal brings you closer to the heart of this beautiful, timeless land.

Travel Notes: For this itinerary, we suggest renting a vehicle to travel freely from Santa Fe to Taos, allowing you to explore the stunning landscapes at your own pace. This flexibility enables you to not only experience both our Santa Fe E-Bike Tour and Taos E-Bike Tour, but also to add any of our other regional day tours to enrich your visit.

We recommend mapping your route along the High Road on the way to Taos and returning via the Low Road along NM 68.

  • The High Road takes you through the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, offering breathtaking views of the landscape, quaint villages, and deep cultural history, giving you a deeper connection to New Mexico’s arts and traditions.

  • The Low Road follows the Rio Grande valley, winding through canyons, mesas, and vast desert vistas. Along this route, you’ll encounter historic sites, native art, and quiet moments of reflection, all while immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the region.

This self-guided drive between Santa Fe and Taos will enhance your experience, giving you the freedom to savor the journey while discovering the authentic heart of Northern New Mexico.
