A Taos Weekend
Where Art, Land, and Spirit Converge
There is a rhythm to Taos—one that cannot be rushed, only felt. A place where the light shifts differently, where creativity lives in the air, and where the stories of land and people unfold with quiet depth. This weekend immersion invites you to step into that rhythm… and let Taos reveal itself.
3-Night | 4-Day Weekend Itinerary
Day One: Begin in Santa Fe | Arrival into the High Desert Light
Arrive into Taos and settle into the soulful design and calm of Hotel Willa, your home for the weekend and our Taos Tour Headquarters. Here, modern comfort meets artistic intention, offering a grounding place to begin.
In the early afternoon, step out on foot for our Taos Artisan Walking Tour + Chocolate. This is not simply a walk, it is an invitation into the creative pulse of Taos, where art, land, and identity have long been intertwined. As you move through town, you’ll uncover the often lesser known legacy of the Taos Society of Artists, whose individual relationships with this landscape were captured through their paintings, each interpreting the light, culture, and spirit of Taos in deeply personal ways.
Along the way, we explore the visionaries who nurtured this creative flourishing, from Helene Wurlitzer, whose philanthropy sustained generations of artists, to Mabel Dodge Luhan, whose famed salons drew influential thinkers, writers, and creatives to Taos, all seeking inspiration within its luminous and storytelling landscapes.
A highlight includes time at the Couse-Sharp Historic Site, a rare place that feels less like a museum and more like a living time capsule, preserving the very objects, spaces, and subjects that once inspired the artists themselves.
Throughout the experience, the enduring presence of Taos Pueblo remains essential, its living culture offering a profound counterpoint and foundation to Taos’ artistic evolution, shaping both its history and its continued expression today.
As evening settles, remain within the ease of your surroundings with dinner at Juliette. A first taste of Taos, refined, warm, and quietly memorable.
Day Two | Vines, Stories, and the Living Landscape
Begin your day slowly with Hotel Willa room service or by settling into the patio for a nourishing breakfast, taking in the quiet morning light as you prepare to explore beyond Taos into its rich scenic heritage along the Rio Grande Valley and into our evolving wine country.
The day unfolds into the wider landscape with our Taos Wineries and Art Tour, a full immersion into the flavors, textures, and creative spirit of Northern New Mexico. Here, the story of wine is not new, it is ancient. The Mission grape, first cultivated centuries ago, continues to root this region in one of the oldest winemaking traditions in the United States, a living thread carried forward through the land.
Beyond the vineyards, we step into a deeply rooted artistic tradition through visits with Spanish Colonial santero artists, including Andrew and Lonnie Garcia. In this lineage, art is not separate from life, it is an expression of devotion, spirituality, and connection to the earth, often honoring family patron saints. Their work illuminates the cultural richness and diversity of the 18 styles of Spanish Colonial art, offering a rare and intimate glimpse into a living tradition.
As the journey continues, a scenic drive along portions of the High Road reveals Taos in its quiet grandeur, where ponderosa pines frame pastoral landscapes and small villages appear suspended in time, both humble and profoundly beautiful.
Return to Hotel Willa in the late afternoon. Take a moment. With a drink in hand, wander the peaceful grounds and allow the day to settle into memory as the high desert light begins to soften.
Complete your day with dinner at one of our personal favorites, The Love Apple, where a thoughtful farm to table experience deepens your connection to the region’s agricultural roots. Set within an intimate, historic adobe space, each dish reflects the season, the land, and the care of local producers—an authentic and memorable way to savor Taos.
Day Three | Movement, Breath, and Exploration
The morning begins in motion with our Taos E Bike Tour, where pedal assist opens a more intimate way of experiencing the landscape. Guided by our passionate local storytellers, you move beyond the expected, weaving through back roads, neighborhoods, and hidden corners that are often only revealed by bike. Along the way, each intentional stop peels back the layers of place and heritage—from the lifeblood of the acequias to humble capillas and time-honored adobe architecture—offering a deeper understanding of the rhythms that shape daily life in Taos. It is an experience that feels both effortless and profoundly immersive, offering a visceral connection to Taos that lingers long after the ride.
The afternoon is yours to follow curiosity. Perhaps a quiet pause by the pool, a slow wander through the historic plaza, or a visit to Taos Pueblo, where centuries of living culture continue to shape the present moment.
As evening approaches, dine where locals return time and again at Lambert's of Taos, located along historic Bent Street. Here, food, atmosphere, and story come together in a refined yet grounded expression of Taos, all within walking distance from Hotel Willa.
Day Four | A Lingering Farewell
Your final morning arrives gently.
A slow, lingering brunch at Juliette invites one last moment to savor the essence of Taos.
There is no rush here—only the quiet understanding that this place stays with you.
This is not simply a weekend away.
It is an unfolding—of place, of story, of connection.
A return to something deeper, carried long after you leave.
